Indirect Water Bath Heaters

Indirect Water Bath Heaters

The Cutter India Indirect Heater is a well proven design. The concept utilizes an intermediate medium (e.g. water or glycol or both mixture) totally immersing the firebox and process coil so they are completely separated. This prevents any flame or combustion product contact with the process coil normally associated with direct-fired heaters. The primary heat transfer mechanism to the process coil is convection. Thus, the process fluid is heated without any concern for scaling or there modegradation. Cutter India Indirect Heaters range from 0.1 to 25 MM Btu/Hr and come with the following features:

A. Retrofit
i. The Cutter India IWBH can be easily retrofitted to any existing system (e.g. Glycol Dehydration Unit) within its existing footprint.

B. Installation
i. Low installation cost. The heater with all the instruments and controls can be skid mounted for a simple, economical installation and relocation.

C. Control System
i. Automated, accurate state-of–the-art control system will provide unattended 24 hours operation.

D. Burner
i. The standard burner is with natural draft requiring no electrical power (forced draft burner can be provided, if required). Multi-fuel capability. Gaseous or distillate fuel. A flame arrestor is available for the natural draft burner to prevent flash back.

E. Coil Bundle
i. The process coil is a removable serpentine configuration with all bare tubes. No extended fins to scale or plug.

F. Control System
i. The standard control system is completely pneumatic operated requiring no electrical power. A state-of-the-art PLC electronic control system is available customized to meet your specific application and to meet any specification (e.g. IRI, FM, NFPA, BASEEFA). A complete functional test of all controls is performed at our facility prior to shipment.

G. Packaged Instruments and Controls
i. Units are supplied with instruments and controls for unattended operation. Programmable controllers [PLCs] can be offered for automated sequencing and to identify any alarms in the equipment operation. All controls are piped, wired, and function tested prior to shipment. Electrical control systems are designed to meet the requirements of recognized codes such as IRI, NFPA, NEC, FM, UL, USGS and BASEEFA.

H. Noise Level
i. A special low noise level burner with the latest noise abatement technology can be provided to reduce the noise level in residential areas.

I. Packaged Unit
i. The Cutter India Indirect Heater comes as a completely assembled packaged unit including fuel train. The only requirements at site are to tie into the process, fuel supply, and utilities if required.

J. Turndown
i. The standard natural draft burner system has a 3:1 turndown. However, a 10:1 turndown is available in the forced draft burner option.

K. Efficiency
i. Typical net thermal efficiency is 70-75%. Efficiency enhancement options are available to increase the net thermal efficiency to 90%.m. Emission Control
ii. The burner can be provided with low NOX (oxides of nitrogen) and low CO (carbon monoxide) emission to meet the latest country specific regulations.

L. Turnaround Inspection
i. Heater specialists are available to assist during plant turn around or to perform periodic inspections of heater operation, burner adjustment, coil and insulation.

M. Startup Assistance
i. Cutter India provides complete startup and trouble shooting assistance. Experienced field engineers will assist in startup, training, trouble shooting and maintenance of heaters. Cutter India also offers once a year heater surveys to assure compliance with air pollution regulations and determine heater performance and potential problem areas.
